Aquaterro Joins Forces with Air Rescue Systems as Official Distributor for Australia

A

quaterro has become the official Australian distributor for Air Rescue Systems (ARS), marking an important step forward in the evolution of air-based search and rescue capability across the country. For over three decades, Aquaterro has been at the forefront of supplying protective equipment and mission-critical technology to Australia’s defense, law enforcement, and emergency services. Now, by partnering with ARS, the company is expanding its mission to bring world-leading rescue innovations, like the Vita Rescue System (VRS), to those who serve on the front lines of Australia’s most challenging environments.

The partnership was born from Aquaterro’s search for advanced air rescue systems that could meet the growing demands of Australia’s SAR teams.

“We were looking for equipment that could truly enhance the capabilities of our clients,” says Abby Sorrell, Aquaterro’s Marketing and Communications Manager. “The range of field-proven rescue systems from ARS, and especially the Vita Rescue System, stood out immediately. It’s a system that really needs to be seen in operation to understand the value it delivers.”

“ARS and Vita came well-recommended to us from our client base. The product line has been developed with hard-earned real-world experience. The quality of this equipment and professional standard of the training cadre are in line with our offerings and the way we do business at Aquaterro; we found it to be an immediate fit,” says Beau Mooney, Business Development, Aquaterro.

The Vita Rescue System brings a new level of control and safety to helicopter hoist operations through its intelligent autonomous stabilization technology. This allows crews to perform precise lifts even in adverse weather or turbulent conditions, significantly reducing risk for both operators and patients. Tested and validated by the U.S. military, the VRS offers a level of confidence and reliability that directly aligns with Aquaterro’s long-standing commitment to protecting those who protect others. Framing that commitment to advancing rotary rescue capabilities, Beau Mooney shares:

“Aquaterro is committed to offering our clients in the rotary medical and rescue space world leading solutions that enhance user and patient safety. Our intent is to have offerings from head to toe for Aircrew and Rescue Technicians.”

For Australia’s search and rescue teams, this technology arrives at a crucial time. With the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, large-scale flooding, and complex coastal rescues, traditional hoist operations can be fraught with risk, especially when taglines are not an option. Aquaterro envisions the VRS being used across a wide range of scenarios, from offshore rescues to flood response missions, where stability and precision can make the difference between success and tragedy.

“As we continue to develop Aquaterro brand recognition in this market, we will continue to look at new and emerging opportunities for the VRS. We see potential use cases in the Australian market for wildfire operations and helicopter resupply in a military context. These are areas where speed and precision are critical and the VRS offers that in spades.” -Beau Mooney, Business Development, Aquaterro

By introducing the Vita Rescue System to Australia, Aquaterro and Air Rescue Systems are setting a new standard for safety, efficiency, and performance in air-based rescue operations. It’s a partnership driven by innovation and dedicated to supporting the people who risk everything to save others.
