Sometimes due to helicopter configuration, maintenance issues, or location, landing the helicopter or the use of short haul and hoist are simply not an option. Helicopter Rappel allows the rescuer or operator to quickly and safely insert into an area, no mater what the conditions. There are many moving parts to Heli-Rappel operations, “Total Team” concepts, clear and concise communication and technically proficient flight crews and rappelers are mandatory.
